Increasing of its volume with new materials of an older tailing dam. Map digitising of the new sizes of the tailing dam. Chemical analyses in the lab and their interpretation. Innovative Technologies for Reconnaissance, Fighting and Monitoring of Coal Fires in China – Phase A and B (Germany & China) - Analysis of the thermal effects of the coal fires over the surrounding rocks and layers in a case of coal fires. Creating new firefighting material with Chinese resources. On-site measurements and field observation to calibrate the models and simulation method. Managing of the Chinese resources to develop and analyse the firefighting material. Environmental impact assessment.
Closing Construction in the Shaft 308 of WISMUT GmbH – Horizontal Abutment & Construction Technique (Germany) - Evaluation of a method and simulation works for backfilling works of the Shaft 308. Laboratory works and computer simulations to improve the method and geomechanical properties of the backfill.
Investigations for Conception of a Material Construction or Backfill for Underground Mine (Germany) - Evaluation of the material (especially waste material) to create a backfill with all available data and to set up of high mechanical properties and reduce costs. Laboratory analyzes as well as computer simulations.
Shield Driving of DREWAG for Railway Crossing of DB AG in the Range of Ammon and Ehrlich Street in Dresden (Germany) - Technical and management issues to improve the tunnels stability. Finding out the main mechanical properties of the gravel (soil). A numerical simulation regarding tunnel excavation was undertaken.
Critical Analysis of the Backfill in Excavated Area (Germany) - Elaboration of several technical studies regarding underground backfills in a potash mine. The backfill use (underground plug) based on laboratory analyses and its geometry was to protect the underground workers against an H2 explosion (circa 300 bars). Site visits and sampling for laboratory analyses as well as underground measurements of the analysed area. Numerical simulation to improve the geometry of the backfill (plug) as well as to simulate the impact of the explosion over it (2D and 3D).
Investigation of Drill Core from Loose and Compressed Salt in Werra Potash Mine, Merkers Mining Field (Germany) - Evaluation of the existing underground backfill (salt) and potential improvement of its mechanical properties. Laboratory analyses to establish the effect of the time over the properties of the backfill. The purpose of the backfill was to improve the stability of the roof and pillars. Numerical simulation.
Stability Investigation of Selected Parts in Horst-Pester Gallery of the Engel Mine in Ralingen (Germany) - Evaluation of the requirements for a roof excavation to decrease the losses in the gypsum mine, as well as to calculate the stability of the former mine (more than 20 years) and the new situation with higher galleries. Site visits in the gypsum mine to analyse the situation of the pillar. Underground measurements as well as laboratory analysis regarding the geomechanical parameters of the gypsum in the pillars. 3D simulation of the underground tested area to verify the stability of the excavated galleries with a higher roof.
Advisory Opinion on Stability to Excavate the Caolin Above and Sideways Near "Mechthild-Tunnel" of Amberger Kaolinwerke Eduard Kick GmbH & Co. KG (Germany) - Evaluation of the caolin rockmass around the tunnel. The HSE aspects, as well as technical aspects, have been analysed. On-site data evaluation. Simulation and calculation of the caolin excavation.
Works on Extensions Planning of Obrigheim Gypsum Mine (Germany) - Calculation and evaluation of the layouts and excavation plans to increase the lifetime of the mine. Stability assessment as well as mining ventilation conceptual design of the mine. Evaluation of the environmental impact of the extended mine. Laboratory works regarding the geomechanical parameters of the gypsum, as well as ventilation measurements and design. The major items of the project have been done by modelling and simulate in 3D the new stability of the mine.
Investigation on Mining with Maximum Efficiency of the Minerals with Low Grades Small and Medium Processing Plants (Romania) - Evaluation of the technical and economical processes for the mining of the minerals with low grades to improve the economic impact of the small and medium processing plants. Concepts of the economic efficiency for such plants. Economic and technical evaluation, calculation of the cash-flow regarding Romanian standards (in 2002) including the bank deposits evaluation, risk assessment of the investment.
